Radio Auction Provides Opportunity for Businesses to Donate and Receive Recognition

What some people might not realize, however, is that the Radio Auction is also a great opportunity for businesses and organizations to get the word out about their products and services by making a donation of an item or a gift certificate for products or services.

Broadcast live on Oldies 1510 AM, the Radio Auction features WRNJs Norman Worth and Deirdre Bryant, along with Russ Long, Steve Randolph, Doc South and a host of volunteer personalities from the community.  Not only do the hosts have fun seeking the highest bids, but they also take time to describe each business and their products and services to listeners.

WRNJ has a loyal base of listeners, and those listeners are active consumers to have your business name mentioned on the air and link it with the good will associated from a donation that will benefit the Joan Knechel Cancer Center at HRMC that exposure is tremendously valuable, said Lisa Dimiceli, Special Events Coordinator for HRMC.  In addition, listings of all of the auction items, along with the names of the donating businesses and organizations, are posted on three websites (,, and for pre-bidding prior to the event - its really a win-win for everyone.
