The live portion of the Radio Auction will be broadcast on Oldies 1510 AM from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday the 9th and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, the 10th. Bidders will call the radio station (908-852-1234) to place bids on items as they are announced on the air.
Those who want to get in on the auction action early are invited to visit www.hrmcnj.org, www.oldies1510.com or www.goes.com to place early bids on the terrific variety of auction items and packages featuring goods and services all donated by area businesses and organizations. This early, online bidding (offered courtesy of Global Online Services in Hackettstown) will take place until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7th.
Items are typically on the block for just a few minutes, so the phone bidding can be fast and furious, explained Lisa Dimiceli, Special Events Coordinator, HRMC Foundation. Its a lot of fun to participate in, and entertaining to listen to, so we encourage people to tune into WRNJ and see what we have to offer.
For those whod like to plan their call-in bids and/or follow along during the Radio Auction, a complete list of the Auction packages will be accessible on HRMCs website from Wednesday, March 7th until the close of the Auction.
Last year, the Radio Auction netted over $24,000 for the Joan Knechel Cancer Center. The Radio Auction committee hopes to eclipse that mark this year.
With the communitys support as bidders and the generous donations of local businesses and individuals making up the large list of auction items, we have high hopes to do well again this year, said Dimiceli.
Some auction items are only available through the auction and cannot be purchased through any retail outlet. Items such as corporate box seats to NY Yankees games, a WRNJ radio co-hosting opportunity and other unique promotions such as A Loaf of Bread Each Month for a Year at Panera are available only through the Radio Auction .
There truly is something for everyone in the auction, and bidders can walk away with some great items at good prices, while supporting the Joan Knechel Cancer Center - a state-of-the-art radiation oncology center making a difference with so many patients in this region, added Dimiceli.
