WRNJ Radio Auction raises over
$26,000 for Joan Knechel Cancer Center

Throughout the two-day live Radio Auction held on March 9th and 10th, listeners bid on a wide array of great items and packages including spa services, restaurant gift certificates, auto detailing, college courses, retail gift certificates, home cleaning, landscaping services and fitness memberships, to name a few.

The bidding was spirited, and when it was over, we had exceeded our goal, said an elated Lisa Dimiceli, Special Events Coordinator, HRMC Foundation.  The Radio Auction is truly a group effort, added Dimiceli.  Wed like to thank the many area businesses that contributed over 215 items and packages to the auction, as well as a very willing Radio Auction team who gathered those items, and the many loyal listeners who bid on them.

The actual Radio Auction bidding process began several days before the event went live on WRNJ. Online bidding was handled by Global Online Electronic Services (GOES) through the hospitals web site, getting things off to a good start, even before the first telephone bid.

This year many people took advantage of the early, online bidding process, helping to set the stage for an excellent radio event, said Dimiceli.   She added, Were very pleased overall with how everything went, and were truly grateful to Norman Worth and the staff at WRNJ for their assistance in making this 8th Radio Auction a reality and a success.
